So, I participated in my first quarter auction on Friday. I think it went pretty well. I'm very excited about the next one which is this coming Saturday. I did learn a few things from the first quarter auction which I will gladly share with you!
1. You have to get people to come. We only had about 80 people show up, which isn't bad since this is a new thing in this area, but we need to work harder to get the butts in the seats next time.
2. People like my stuff better than some other cosmetic companies products :-). There were two other cosmetic companies there and there were a lot more "no bids" on their products than on mine
3. have designated "door people" lined up before the auction.
4. quarter auctions can run long, schedule them for a weekend instead of a week night
5. guests of other cosmetic company reps. usually don't want to sign up for my drawing
6. make sure to keep your guest filled with quarters, if they have quarters, they will bid.
All in all though, it was a lot of fun and I'd gladly do it again! And I am, this coming Saturday! I have some awesome gift sets up for auction, and I'm the only "bath and body" person there!
